Crescent Mountain Vineyards (CMV) is a beautiful subdivision reminiscent of the quiet lifestyle that one may find in the small towns of France. In 1998, retired executive Ray Stamm from Chicago came to Travelers Rest with a dream of creating a small village that would reflect those he fell in love with in Europe. Working with the original developer of The Cliffs luxury mountain and lake properties, Jim Anthony, he purchased a parcel of land close to The Cliffs Valley.
Ray subdivided his parcel into 55 lots and built a 13 room Inn and Restaurant surrounded by vineyards. This Inn was formerly known as La Bastide. World famous cyclist George Hincapie and his brother Rich purchased La Bastide in 2012 renaming it Hotel Domestique. Cyclists from all over the world gather here to enjoy routes that resemble the Alpine climbs and rolling hills of Europe.
